RESUMO

Glioma is a common malignant brain tumor with great heterogeneity and huge difference in clinical outcomes. Although lymphotoxin (LT) beta receptor (LTBR) has been linked to immune system and response development for decades, the expression and function in glioma have not been investigated. To confirm the expression profile of LTBR, integrated RNA-seq data from glioma and normal brain tissues were analyzed. Functional enrichment analysis, TMEscore analysis, immune infiltration, the correlation of LTBR with immune checkpoints and ferroptosis, and scRNAseq data analysis in gliomas were in turn performed, which pointed out that LTBR was pertinent to immune functions of macrophages in gliomas. In addition, after being trained and validated in the tissue samples of the integrated dataset, an LTBR DNA methylation-based prediction model succeeded to distinguish gliomas from non-gliomas, as well as the grades of glioma. Moreover, by virtue of the candidate LTBR CpG sites, a prognostic risk-score model was finally constructed to guide the chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy for glioma patients. Taken together, LTBR is closely correlated with immune functions in gliomas, and LTBR DNA methylation could serve as a biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis of gliomas.

Comprehending the mechanism behind human diseases with an established heritable component represents the forefront of personalized medicine. Nevertheless, numerous medically important genes are inaccurately represented in short-read sequencing data analysis due to their complexity and repetitiveness or the so-called 'dark regions' of the human genome. The advent of PacBio as a long-read platform has provided new insights, yet HiFi whole-genome sequencing (WGS) cost remains frequently prohibitive. We introduce a targeted sequencing and analysis framework, Twist Alliance Dark Genes Panel (TADGP), designed to offer phased variants across 389 medically important yet complex autosomal genes. We highlight TADGP accuracy across eleven control samples and compare it to WGS. This demonstrates that TADGP achieves variant calling accuracy comparable to HiFi-WGS data, but at a fraction of the cost. Thus, enabling scalability and broad applicability for studying rare diseases or complementing previously sequenced samples to gain insights into these complex genes. TADGP revealed several candidate variants across all cases and provided insight into LPA diversity when tested on samples from rare disease and cardiovascular disease cohorts. In both cohorts, we identified novel variants affecting individual disease-associated genes (e.g., IKZF1, KCNE1). Nevertheless, the annotation of the variants across these 389 medically important genes remains challenging due to their underrepresentation in ClinVar and gnomAD. Consequently, we also offer an annotation resource to enhance the evaluation and prioritization of these variants. Overall, we can demonstrate that TADGP offers a cost-efficient and scalable approach to routinely assess the dark regions of the human genome with clinical relevance.

Replacing cement with industrial by-products is an important way to achieve carbon neutrality in the cement industry. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of eggshell powder on cement hydration properties, and to evaluate its feasibility as a substitute for cement. The substitution rates of eggshell powder are 0%, 7.5%, and 15%. Studying the heat of hydration and macroscopic properties can yield the following results. First: The cumulative heat of hydration based on each gram of cementitious material falls as the eggshell powder content rises. This is a result of the eggshell powder's diluting action. However, the cumulative heat of hydration per gram of cement rises due to the nucleation effect of the eggshell powder. Second: The compressive strengths of ES0, ES7.5, and ES15 samples at 28 days of age are 54.8, 43.4, and 35.5 MPa, respectively. Eggshell powder has a greater negative impact on the compressive strength. The effect of eggshell powder on the speed and intensity of ultrasonic waves has a similar trend. Third: As the eggshell powder content increases, the resistivity gradually decreases. In addition, we also characterize the microscopic properties of the slurry with added eggshell powder. X-ray Diffraction (XRD) shows that, as the age increases from 1 day to 28 days, hemicaboaluminate transforms into monocaboaluminate. As the content of the eggshell powder increases, FTIR analysis finds a slight decrease in the content of CSH. Similarly, thermogravimetric (TG) results also show a decrease in the production of calcium hydroxide. Although the additional nucleation effect of eggshell powder promotes cement hydration and generates more portlandite, it cannot offset the loss of portlandite caused by the decrease in cement. Last: A numerical hydration model is presented for cement-eggshell powder binary blends. The parameters of the hydration model are determined based on hydration heat normalized by cement mass. Moreover, the hydration heat until 28 days is calculated using the proposed model. The strength development of all specimens and all test ages can be expressed as an exponential function of hydration heat.

PURPOSE: Neoadjuvant PD-1 blockade combined with chemotherapy is a promising treatment for resectable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), yet the immunological mechanisms contributing to tumor regression and biomarkers corresponding to different pathological responses remain unclear. METHODS: Using dynamic and paired blood samples from NSCLC patients receiving neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy, we analyzed the frequencies of CD8 + T-cell and Treg subsets and their dynamic changes during neoadjuvant treatment through flow cytometry. Cytokine profiles and function-related gene expression of CD8 + T cells and Tregs were analyzed through flow cytometry and mRNA-seq. Infiltrating T-cell subsets in resected tissues from patients with different pathological responses were analyzed through multiplex immunofluorescence. RESULTS: Forty-two NSCLC patients receiving neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy were enrolled and then underwent surgical resection and pathological evaluation. Nineteen patients had pCR (45%), 7 patients had MPR (17%), and 16 patients had non-MPR (38%). In patients with pCR, the frequencies of CD137 + CD8 + T cells (P = 0.0475), PD-1 + Ki-67 + CD8 + T cells (P = 0.0261) and Tregs (P = 0.0317) were significantly different from those of non-pCR patients before treatment. pCR patients usually had low frequencies of CD137 + CD8 + T cells, PD-1 + Ki-67 + CD8 + T cells and Tregs, and their AUCs were higher than that of tissue PD-L1 expression. Neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy markedly improved CD8 + T-cell proliferation and activation, especially in pCR patients, as the frequencies of CD137 + CD8 + (P = 0.0136) and Ki-67 + CD8 + (P = 0.0391) T cells were significantly increased. The blood levels of cytokines such as IL-2 (P = 0.0391) and CXCL10 (P = 0.0195) were also significantly increased in the pCR group, which is consistent with the high density of activated cytotoxic T cells at the tumor site (P < 0.0001). CONCLUSION: Neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy drives CD8 + T cells toward a proliferative and active profile. The frequencies of CD137 + CD8 + T cells, PD-1 + Ki-67 + CD8 + T cells and Tregs at baseline might predict the response to neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy in NSCLC patients. The increase in IL-2 and CXCL10 might reflect the chemotaxis and enrichment of cytotoxic T cells at the tumor site and a better response to neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy.

The Hippo signaling pathway plays an essential role in organ size control and tumorigenesis. Loss of Hippo signal and hyper-activation of the downstream oncogenic YAP signaling are commonly observed in various types of cancers. We previously identified STRN3-containing PP2A phosphatase as a negative regulator of MST1/2 kinases (i.e. Hippo) in gastric cancer (GC), opening the possibility of selectively targeting the PP2Aa-STRN3-MST1/2 axis to recover Hippo signaling against cancer. Here, we further discovered 1) disulfiram (DSF), an FDA-approved drug, which can similarly block the binding of STRN3 to PP2A core enzyme, and 2) CX-6258 (CX), a chemical inhibitor, that can disrupt the interaction between STRN3 and MST1/2, both allowing reactivation of Hippo activity to inhibit GC. More importantly, we found these two compounds, via a MST1/2 kinase-dependent manner, inhibit DNA repair to sensitize GC towards chemotherapy. In addition, we identified thiram (TH), a structural analog of DSF, can function similarly to inhibit cancer cell proliferation or enhance chemotherapy sensitivity. Interestingly, inclusion of copper ion enhanced such effects of DSF and TH on GC treatment. Overall, this work demonstrated that pharmacological targeting of the PP2Aa-STRN3-MST1/2 axis by drug compounds can potently recover Hippo signal for tumor treatment.

As essential primary producers, cyanobacteria play a major role in global carbon and nitrogen cycles. Though the influence of nanoplastics on the carbon metabolism of cyanobacteria is well-studied, little is known about how nanoplastics affect their nitrogen metabolism, especially under environmentally relevant nitrogen concentrations. Here, we show that nitrogen forms regulated growth inhibition, nitrogen consumption, and the synthesis and release of microcystin (MC) in Microcystis aeruginosa exposed to 10 µg/mL amino-modified polystyrene nanoplastics (PS-NH2) with a particle size of 50 nm under environmentally relevant nitrogen concentrations of nitrate, ammonium, and urea. We demonstrate that PS-NH2 inhibit M. aeruginosa differently in nitrate, urea, and ammonium, with inhibition rates of 51.87, 39.70, and 36.69%, respectively. It is caused through the differences in impairing cell membrane integrity, disrupting redox homeostasis, and varying nitrogen transport pathways under different nitrogen forms. M. aeruginosa respond to exposure of PS-NH2 by utilizing additional nitrogen to boost the production of amino acids, thereby enhancing the synthesis of MC, extracellular polymeric substances, and membrane phospholipids. Our results found that the threat of nanoplastics on primary producers can be regulated by the nitrogen forms in freshwater ecosystems, contributing to a better understanding of nanoplastic risks under environmentally relevant conditions.

Esophageal adenocarcinoma is the most common histological subtype of esophageal cancer in Western countries and shows poor prognosis with rapid growth. EAC is characterized by a strong male predominance and racial disparity. EAC is up to fivefold more common among Whites than Blacks, yet Black patients with EAC have poorer survival rates. The racial disparity remains largely unknown, and there is limited knowledge of mutations in EAC regarding racial disparities. We used whole-exome sequencing to show somatic mutation profiles derived from tumor samples from 18 EAC male patients. We identified three molecular subgroups based on the pre-defined esophageal cancer-specific mutational signatures. Group 1 is associated with age and NTHL1 deficiency-related signatures. Group 2 occurs primarily in Black patients and is associated with signatures related to DNA damage from oxidative stress and NTHL1 deficiency-related signatures. Group 3 is associated with defective homologous recombination-based DNA often caused by BRCA mutation in White patients. We observed significantly mutated race related genes (LCE2B in Black, SDR39U1 in White) were (q-value < 0.1). Our findings underscore the possibility of distinct molecular mutation patterns in EAC among different races. Further studies are needed to validate our findings, which could contribute to precision medicine in EAC.

A brand-new enhanced starvation is put forward to trigger sensitized chemotherapy: blocking tumor-relation blood vessel formation and accelerating nutrient degradation and efflux. Following this concept, two cisplatin-like gemfibrozil-derived Pt(IV) prodrugs, GP and GPG, are synthesized. GP and GPG had nanomolar IC50 against A2780 cells and higher selectivity against normal cells than cisplatin. Bioactivity results confirmed that GP and GPG highly accumulated in cells and induced DNA damage, G2-phase arrest, and p53 expression. Besides, they could increase ROS and MDA levels and reduce mitochondrial membrane potential and Bcl-2 expression to promote cell apoptosis. In vivo, GP showed superior antitumor activity in A2780 tumor-bearing mice with no observable tissue damage. Mechanistic studies suggested that highly selective chemotherapy could be due to the new enhanced starvation effect: blocking vasculature formation via inhibiting the CYP2C8/EETs pathway and VEGFR2, NF-κB, and COX-2 expression and cholesterol efflux and degradation acceleration via increasing ABCA1 and PPARα.

Nectin and nectin-like (Necl) co-receptor axis, comprised of receptors DNAM-1, TIGIT, CD96, PVRIG, and nectin/Necl ligands, is gaining prominence in immuno-oncology. Within this axis, the inhibitory receptor PVRIG recognizes Nectin-2 with high affinity, but the underlying molecular basis remains unknown. By determining the crystal structure of PVRIG in complex with Nectin-2, we identified a unique CC' loop in PVRIG, which complements the double-lock-and-key binding mode and contributes to its high affinity for Nectin-2. The association of the corresponding charged residues in the F-strands explains the ligand selectivity of PVRIG toward Nectin-2 but not for Necl-5. Moreover, comprehensive comparisons of the binding capacities between co-receptors and ligands provide innovative insights into the intra-axis immunoregulatory mechanism. Taken together, these findings broaden our understanding of immune recognition and regulation mediated by nectin/Necl co-receptors and provide a rationale for the development of immunotherapeutic strategies targeting the nectin/Necl axis.

MAIN CONCLUSION: WOX family gene WOX2 is highly expressed during seed development, which functions redundantly with WOX1 and WOX4 to positively regulate seed germination. WOX (WUSCHEL-related homeobox) is a family of transcription factors in plants. They play essential roles in the regulation of plant growth and development, but their function in seed germination is not well understood. In this report, we show that WOX1, WOX2, and WOX4 are close homologues in Arabidopsis. WOX2 has a redundant function with WOX1 and WOX4, respectively, in seed germination. WOX2 is highly expressed during seed development, from the globular embryonic stage to mature dry seeds, and its expression is decreased after germination. Loss of function single mutant wox2, and double mutants wox1 wox2 and wox2 wox4-1 show decreased germination speed. WOX2 and WOX4 are essential for hypocotyl-radicle zone elongation during germination, potentially by promoting the expression of cell wall-related genes. We also found that WOX2 and WOX4 regulate germination through the gibberellin (GA) pathway. These results suggest that WOX2 and WOX4 integrate the GA pathway and downstream cell wall-related genes during germination.

BACKGROUND: To compare the value and efficiency of the three-dimensional (3D) heads-up surgical system and traditional microscopic (TM) system in teaching and learning vitreoretinal surgeries. METHODS: Twenty ophthalmologists and scrub nurses were recruited as teachers, and 45 junior ophthalmology residents and trainee doctors, trainee nurses, and medical students were recruited as observers. Each teacher and observer were assigned to both a 3D-assisted and TM-assisted vitreoretinal surgery and then asked to complete satisfaction questionnaires for both surgical systems at the end of each surgery. RESULTS: The 3D heads-up surgical system was rated significantly higher in most of the subscales and overall satisfaction score by both teachers and observers (P < 0.05). However, ratings for instrument adjustment were significantly higher in the TM group compared to the 3D group for junior ophthalmology residents and trainee doctors (6.1 ± 1.7 vs. 8.8 ± 1.1, P < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: The 3D heads-up surgical system has great didactical value in the medical education of vitreoretinal surgeries, but it is important to consider the specific needs of different learners when choosing between the two systems. Bursaphelenchus xylophilus, the pine wood nematode (PWN), is the causal agent of pine wilt disease (PWD), which causes enormous economic loss annually. According to our previous research, fomepizole, as a selective inhibitor of PWN alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH), has the potential to be a preferable lead compound for developing novel nematicides. However, the underlying molecular mechanism is still unclear. The result of molecular docking showed that the stronger interactions between fomepizole and PWN ADH at the active site of ADH were attributed to hydrogen bonds. Low-dose fomepizole had a substantial negative impact on the egg hatchability, development, oviposition, and lifespan of PWN. Transcriptome analysis indicated that 2,124 upregulated genes and 490 downregulated genes in fomepizole-treated PWN were obtained. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes enrichment analysis of differentially expressed genes indicated that fomepizole could be involved in controlling PWN vitality mainly by regulating key signaling pathways, such as the ribosome, hippo signaling pathway, and lysosome. Remarkably, the results of RNA interference indicated that the downregulated serine/threonine-protein phosphatase gene (stpp) could reduce the egg hatchability, development, oviposition, and lifespan of PWN, which was closely similar to the consequences of nematodes with low-dose fomepizole treatment. In addition, the silencing of stpp resulted in weakness of PWN pathogenicity, which indicated that stpp could be a potential drug target to control PWN.

Lactylation has been recently identified as a new type of posttranslational modification widely occurring on lysine residues of both histone and non-histone proteins. The acetyl transferase p300 is thought to mediate protein lactylation, yet the cellular concentration of the proposed lactyl-donor, lactyl-coenzyme A is about 1,000 times lower than that of acetyl-CoA, raising the question whether p300 is a genuine lactyl-transferase. Here, we report the Alanyl-tRNA synthetase 1 (AARS1) moonlights as a bona fide lactyl-transferase that directly uses lactate and ATP to catalyze protein lactylation. Among the candidate substrates, we focused on the Hippo pathway that has a well-established role in tumorigenesis. Specifically, AARS1 was found to sense intracellular lactate and translocate into the nucleus to lactylate and activate YAP-TEAD complex; and AARS1 itself was identified as a Hippo target gene that forms a positive feedback loop with YAP-TEAD to promote gastric cancer (GC) cell proliferation. Consistently, the expression of AARS1 was found to be upregulated in GC, and elevated AARS1 expression was found to be associated with poor prognosis for GC patients. Collectively, this work discovered AARS1 with lactyl-transferase activity in vitro and in vivo and revealed how the metabolite lactate is translated into a signal of cell proliferation.

Vascular plants have evolved intricate long-distance signaling mechanisms to cope with environmental stress, with reactive oxygen species (ROS) emerging as pivotal systemic signals in plant stress responses. However, the exact role of ROS as root-to-shoot signals in the drought response has not been determined. In this study, we reveal that compared with wild-type plants, ferric reductase defective 3 (frd3) mutants exhibit enhanced drought resistance concomitant with elevated NCED3 transcript levels and ABA contents in leaves as well as increased hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) levels in roots and leaves. Grafting experiments distinctly illustrate that drought resistance can be conferred by the frd3 rootstock regardless of the scion genotype, indicating that long-distance signals originating from frd3 roots promote an increase in ABA levels in leaves. Intriguingly, the drought resistance conferred by the frd3 mutant rootstock is weakened by the CAT2-overexpressing scion, suggesting that H2O2 may be involved in the long-distance signaling. Moreover, the results of comparative transcriptome and proteome analyses support the drought resistance phenotype of the frd3 mutant. Taken together, our findings substantiate the notion that frd3 root-derived long-distance signals trigger ABA synthesis in leaves and enhance drought resistance, providing new evidence for root-to-shoot long-distance signaling in the drought response of plants.

PURPOSE: To investigate the expression of nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group D member 1 (NR1D1) and nuclear receptor subfamily 2 group E Member 3 (NR2E3) in retinoblastoma (RB) and their correlation with the clinical and pathological features of RB. METHODS: Immunohistochemical (IHC) assays were performed to detect and evaluate the expression levels of NR1D1 and NR2E3 in paraffin-embedded tissue samples. The relationship between the expression levels and clinicopathological characteristics of RB patients was analyzed using the χ2 test or Fisher exact test. RESULTS: A total of 51 RB patients were involved in this research. The expression levels of NR1D1 (P = 0.004) and NR2E3 (P = 0.024) were significantly lower in RB tumor tissues than in normal retina. The expression levels of NR1D1 and NR2E3 were less positive in RB patients with advanced stages (P = 0.007, P = 0.015), choroidal infiltration (P = 0.003, P = 0.029), and optic nerve infiltration (P = 0.036, P = 0.003). In addition, a low expression level of NR2E3 was associated with high-risk pathology (P = 0.025) and necrosis (P = 0.035) of RB tissues. CONCLUSION: The expression levels of NR1D1 and NR2E3 were decreased in RB and closely associated with the clinical stage and high invasion of the disease. These findings provide new insights into the mechanism of RB progression and suggest that NR1D1 and NR2E3 could be potential targets for treatment strategies.

Plants are capable of altering root growth direction to curtail exposure to a saline environment (termed halotropism). The root cap that surrounds root tip meristematic stem cells plays crucial roles in perceiving and responding to environmental stimuli. However, how the root cap mediates root halotropism remains undetermined. Here, we identified a root cap-localized NAC transcription factor, SOMBRERO (SMB), that is required for root halotropism. Its effect on root halotropism is attributable to the establishment of asymmetric auxin distribution in the lateral root cap (LRC) rather than to the alteration of cellular sodium equilibrium or amyloplast statoliths. Furthermore, SMB is essential for basal expression of the auxin influx carrier gene AUX1 in LRC and for auxin redistribution in a spatiotemporally-regulated manner, thereby leading to directional bending of roots away from higher salinity. Our findings uncover an SMB-AUX1-auxin module linking the role of the root cap to the activation of root halotropism.

PURPOSE: The aim was to compare the effectiveness of clinical discriminant rules and machine learning classifiers in identifying glaucomatous fundus images based on optic disc topographic features. DESIGN: Retrospective case-control study. METHODS: The study used a total of 800 fundus images, half of which were glaucomatous cases and the other half non- glaucomatous cases obtained from an open database and clinical work. The images were randomly divided into training and testing sets with equal numbers of glaucomatous and non-glaucomatous images. An ophthalmologist framed the edge of the optic cup and disc, and the program calculated five features, including the vertical cup-to-disc ratio and the width of the optic rim in four quadrants in pixels, used to create machine learning classifiers. The discriminative ability of these classifiers was compared with clinical discriminant rules. RESULTS: The machine learning classifiers outperformed clinical discriminant rules, with the extreme gradient boosting method showing the best performance in identifying glaucomatous fundus images. Decision tree analysis revealed that the cup-to-disc ratio was the most important feature for identifying glaucoma fundus images. At the same time, the temporal width of the optic rim was the least important feature. CONCLUSIONS: Machine learning classifiers are an effective approach to detecting glaucomatous fundus images based on optic disc topographic features and integration with an automated program for framing and calculating the required parameters would make it a straightforward and effective approach.

ABSTRACT: To synthesize the available evidence regarding differences in the long-term safety and efficacy of intermittent, repeated, or continuous palliative inotropic therapy among patients with advanced heart failure (HF). We systematically searched the PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library electronic databases, with a cutoff date of November 23, 2023, for studies reporting outcomes in adult patients with advanced HF treated with intermittent, repeated, or continuous levosimendan, milrinone, or dobutamine. Forty-one studies (18 randomized controlled trials and 23 cohort studies) comprising 5137 patients met the inclusion criteria. The results of the network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials showed that levosimendan had significant advantages over milrinone or dobutamine in reducing mortality and improving LVEF. A single-arm meta-analysis also indicated that levosimendan had the lowest mortality and significantly improved BNP and LVEF. Regarding safety, hypotension events were observed more frequently in the levosimendan group and milrinone groups. However, the current evidence is limited by the heterogeneity and relatively small sample size of the studies.

BACKGROUND/PURPOSE: Risk factors for re-bleeding and death after acute variceal bleeding (AVB) in cirrhotic HCC patients are not fully understood.We aimed to (1) explore how the combination of high-risk esophageal varices, HCC status, and portal vein tumor thrombus (i.e., HCC Portal Hypertension Imaging Score [HCCPHTIS]) helps predict increased risk of variceal re-bleeding and mortality; (2) assess predictability and reproducibility of the identified variceal re-bleeding rules. METHODS: This prospective study included 195 HCC patients with first-time AVB and liver cirrhosis, and conducted multivariable Cox regression analysis and Kaplan-Meier analysis. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was calculated to find the optimal sensitivity, specificity, and cutoff values of the variables. The reproducibility of the results obtained was verified in a different but related group of patients. RESULTS: 56 patients (28.7%) had re-bleeding within 6 weeks; HCCPHTIS was an independent risk factor for variceal re-bleeding after AVB (Odd ratio, 2.330; 95% confidence interval: 1.728-3.142, p < 0.001). The positive predictive value of HCCPHTIS cut off value > 3 was 66.2%, sensitivity 83.9%, and specificity 82.3%. HCCPHTIS area under the curve was higher than Child-Pugh score (89% vs. 75%, p < 0.001). 74(37.9%) death occurred within 6 weeks; HCCPHTIS > 4 was associated with increased risk of death within 6 weeks after AVB (p < 0.001). CONCLUSION: HCCPHTIS > 3 is a strong predictor of variceal re-bleeding within the first 6 weeks. However, patients with HCCPHTIS > 4 were at increased risk of death within 6 weeks.

Establishing appropriate metal-support interactions is imperative for acquiring efficient and corrosion-resistant catalysts for water splitting. Herein, the interaction mechanism between Ru nanoparticles and a series of titanium oxides, including TiO, Ti4O7 and TiO2, designed via facile non-stoichiometric engineering is systematically studied. Ti4O7, with the unique band structure, high conductivity and chemical stability, endows with ingenious metal-support interaction through interfacial Ti-O-Ru units, which stabilizes Ru species during OER and triggers hydrogen spillover to accelerate HER kinetics. As expected, Ru/Ti4O7 displays ultralow overpotentials of 8 mV and 150 mV for HER and OER with a long operation of 500 h at 10 mA cm-2 in acidic media, which is expanded in pH-universal environments. Benefitting from the excellent bifunctional performance, the proton exchange membrane and anion exchange membrane electrolyzer assembled with Ru/Ti4O7 achieves superior performance and robust operation. The work paves the way for efficient energy conversion devices.
